Digital Nomad Visa Spain

Spain's international teleworking authorisation lets qualifying remote employees and freelancers live in Spain while working for companies or clients based outside it. The requirements sit as much on your employer or client structure as on you.

Who this is for

  • Remote employees of non-Spanish companies
  • Freelancers with mostly foreign clients
  • Founders working remotely for their own company abroad
  • Couples and families relocating together

Employer and client evidence

Contract history, company seniority, and confirmation that work can be performed remotely are the pressure points. We review your documents before they are filed.

Freelancer structures

Self-employed applicants must show a client base outside Spain within permitted limits. We assess your invoicing pattern against the rules.

Family in the same file

Partners and dependent children can be included, with income thresholds increasing per family member.

Tax planning coordination

This route has a specific tax dimension. We coordinate with a tax adviser instead of guessing at your fiscal position.

Frequently asked questions

Can I work for Spanish clients on this permit?
Only within the limited proportion the rules allow for self-employed applicants; employed applicants work for their foreign employer. Exceeding the limit puts renewal at risk, so it needs monitoring from the start.
Does this route lead to permanent residence?
Time spent legally resident under this authorisation counts towards long-term residence and, subject to the applicable nationality rules, towards citizenship.
Can my spouse work in Spain?
Family members included in the application receive their own authorisation. We confirm the scope of their work rights as part of the assessment.
