Lawyers for international clients in Madrid

Madrid is our base and the centre of gravity for most international legal work in Spain: the immigration offices that will decide your file, the notaries who will formalise your purchase or your company, and the commercial registry are all here.

Who we help here

  • Professionals relocating to Madrid with an employer
  • Remote workers and founders
  • Families moving with school-age children
  • Property buyers in the city and the surrounding municipalities
  • Foreign companies opening a Spanish subsidiary
  • Latin American clients on shortened citizenship timelines

Local context that affects your matter

Where immigration files are decided

Applications from clients resident in the Comunidad de Madrid are processed by the regional immigration office (Oficina de Extranjería), with document submission and biometric appointments handled at designated police stations across the city and region. Appointment availability, not the legal analysis, is usually the binding constraint on timing.

A property market with old stock

Much of central Madrid — Salamanca, Chamberí, Justicia, Retiro — is early twentieth-century building stock. Discrepancies between the land registry and the cadastre, unregistered internal works, technical building inspections and community obligations are common and need checking before a reservation is signed.

The corporate centre

The Madrid Commercial Registry, the main notarial offices and most of the banks that will actually open accounts for foreign-owned companies are concentrated here, which shortens incorporation timelines when the steps are correctly sequenced.

A genuinely international client base

Madrid draws Latin American, US, European and Middle Eastern clients in different proportions than the coast, and with different objectives: employment and business rather than second homes. That shapes the routes we most often advise on — highly qualified professional, teleworking and family reunification.

How consultations work

  1. 01You describe your situation in a short message or call.
  2. 02We confirm whether we can help and what the consultation will cover.
  3. 03The consultation takes place by video or in person in Madrid.
  4. 04You receive your options in writing, with scope and fees for the next step.

Getting here

Consultations are held in central Madrid, easily reached by Metro and Cercanías, and by video for clients elsewhere in Spain or abroad. Barajas airport is roughly 20 minutes from the centre by taxi and connected by Metro line 8 and Cercanías.

FAQs — Madrid

Do I need to live in Madrid for you to act for me?
No. Immigration and corporate files are largely electronic and we act for clients across Spain and abroad. Being based in Madrid simply speeds up notary, registry and in-person appointment steps.
Can we meet in person?
Yes, in central Madrid, and we also serve the surrounding municipalities. Where a video consultation is equally effective we will say so rather than ask you to travel.
Which language do you work in?
English and Spanish. Written advice is delivered in the language you prefer.
